The study was directed focus on the adaptation and validation of the verbal scale of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) in the province of Villa Clara; during the periodof September of the 2012 until April of the 2013. The investigation was sustained in a quantitative paradigm, using an instrumental study, in that a probability sample compromised was selected which included 307apparently healthy subjects, of whom 51.5% were female and 48.5% men with an age range from 5 to 15 years, to those were applied the adapted version and of the scale of verbal understanding of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC). The data processing was performed using the package SPSS/Windows 11.5. Statistical tests applied were: Exploratory Factor Analysis, using Principal Component Analysis andCronbach Coefficient of Reliability (α), which allowed the analysis of inter-item reliability and the validity of the test, in adition was applied an analysis of a mean and square mean using ANOVA. The analysis led to the adapted version of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC)has satisfactory psychometric properties. Presenting a high internal consistency =0.93 and settling down its reliability and validity for its application to the Cuban population. The scales of the WISC were built for the population investigated by each one of the ages that the test embraces.
