This work was done in three of the central provinces of Cuba (Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, and Sancti Spíritus) with the general objetive to establish the value of the biodiversity of land vertebratas. A revision of specilized blbliography, materials from zoological collections, reports of proyects, tecnical scientific services and inedit information from differents institutions were the esentials of a base of data. Maps and tables were elaborated with comparations between provinces, municipalities and ecosystems in relation with the registered values and the level of knowledge. Nine zoological collections and 17 scientific reports derivated from proyects for the area were identified. 370 land vertebratas from 27 orders, 76 families and 203 genders were registered, from them 90 specieses were endemic. The province with more specieses was Sancti Spiritus and the biggest class was birds. The categories in danger were 4 specieses in Critical Danger, 14 In Danger and 31 Vulnerable. 502 places with reports were registered , the ecosystem with more reports were the North Keys and the Mountains of Guamuhaya. The Cienfuegos province was the less studied, but in others municipaties (Cifuentes, Ranchuelo and Taguasco) there were few reports. The class mamalia has the less number of references only eight from a total 47. It was verified that the scarcity of studies was a negative influence over the values of biodiversity registered.
