Presently Work of Diploma was carried out a comparative study starting from the aerodynamic coefficients in the profile S809, in the same one is proven the viability of the methods of computational fluids dynamics (CFD) as a tool in the solution of problems of mechanics of the fluids. Numeric different models are analyzed developed for the analyses with CFD, the model was selected but adapting for the solution of the problem having in consideration the advantages and limitations of the same ones in front of problems of external flow. For the realization of the investigation the software used was Fluent Inc. which was selected under the approach of their calculation potentialities as well as of the strategy of the same one in the resolution of problems of mechanics of the fluids. The aerodynamic profile S809 was selected to carry out the simulations having in consideration its wide use for the wind turbine industry besides an abundant database that allows a detailed study of the same one existing. This profile was simulated under physical and numeric different conditions, the form and size of the computational domain were varied, as well as the structure and density of the mesh, they modified the tests to work with different turbulence models. The best results in the simulations are obtained for angles of attack under 5,13° for the turbulence model Spalart-Allmaras, these tests were carried out for domain type C, 10 times bigger that the profile and with a structured meshes. For angles of attack superiors at the 9,22° showed up convergence problems in the carried out tests.
