With the present investigation, we used the modeling by the finite element method (FEM) where the thermal cycles in wet underwater welding were obtained. These results were compared with modeling results of the welded air with the same heat input. The changes of surroundings were also considered in the latter case the medium was the air at environment. According to the results is confirmed that thermal cycling will be severely affected when water cooling is compared to welds made in air.
