Resumen
La presente investigación propone un programa de acciones para la gestión del
patrimonio cultural inmueble de la ciudad de Caibarién con el fin de concederle valor
de uso turístico, requisito éste indispensable para su incorporación a la oferta de sol
y playa de los cayos del noreste de Villa Clara desde una perspectiva enfocada al
plus, teniendo en cuenta el protagonismo adquirido por la “villa blanca”, tanto como
punto de tránsito obligado a la cayería y como opcional turística. Lo auténtico y
autóctono de dicho patrimonio le aporta valor agregado a la oferta principal del
turismo en la zona, acercando a los visitantes a la cultura y a la idiosincrasia de sus
pobladores, sobre la base del enriquecimiento de su propia espiritualidad. Tributa a
los cambios que se han producido en la demanda turística actual y a la máxima de
potenciar la relación cultura-turismo desde un enfoque de sostenibilidad. Incluye la
elaboración de un diagnóstico detallado de la ciudad de Caibarién que abarca las
dimensiones ambiental y cultural y que constituye la base de la estructuración de la
propuesta; resultado de la aplicación de métodos de investigación entre los cuales se
destacan la observación, la entrevista, la consulta bibliográfica, el trabajo grupal,
entre otros. El plan de acciones diseñado es cuestionado por especialistas, quienes
coinciden, a partir de la aplicación del instrumento correspondiente, en que la
propuesta es válida como herramienta de gestión ambiental del patrimonio cultural
inmueble de la ciudad de Caibarién.
The current research proposes an action program for the management of cultural assets and heritage in the city of Caibarién. The program aims at providing these cultural assets and heritage with a tourist value, which is a pre-requisite for their incorporation to the traditional sun and beach offer on the keys off the northern shore of Caibarién, in the province of Villa Clara, from a perspective focused on the “plus” modality and taking into account the leading role that the city has gained, being, as it is, a transit point for customers on the way to the northern keys, as well as an optional destination. Whatever is authentic and autochthonous in the cultural heritage of the city adds value to the main tourist offer in the area, as tourists can have a closer look at the culture and idiosyncrasy of the local population, thus enriching their own spirituality. The research also deals with the changes that have taken place in the present tourist demand and points out the need to strengthen the relationship between culture and tourism from the perspective of sustainability. It includes the elaboration of a detailed diagnosis of the city of Caibarién, including the cultural and environmental dimensions. This constitutes the basis of the structuring of the proposal, and is the result of the application of research methods, such as observation, interviews, bibliographical search, and group work, among others. The action plan designed is questioned by specialists who agree –as shown by the corresponding research instrument- that the proposal is a valid tool for the environmentally-friendly management of the cultural assets and heritage in the city of Caibarién.
