Resumen
El desarrollo territorial ordenado y planificado constituye una vía para atenuar las dificultades desde el punto de vista socioeconómico y el Índice de Desarrollo Municipal es una herramienta de gran utilidad si se quiere priorizar las decisiones relacionadas con el desarrollo futuro de las localidades del país.
El objetivo general de esta investigación es “aplicar el Índice de Desarrollo Municipal (IDM) a la provincia de Sancti Spíritus para determinar los niveles de desarrollo alcanzados en cada uno de los municipios de la misma”. En tal sentido se estructuró el trabajo en dos capítulos: el primero muestra los aspectos teóricos metodológicos acerca del Sistema Estadístico Nacional y sus indicadores, en el segundo, se aplica el método del cálculo del IDM para cada uno de los municipios de la provincia de Sancti Spíritus en un período de nueve años desde 2002 hasta 2010.
En esta investigación se va de lo general a lo particular y además se utilizaron los métodos de análisis y síntesis, el histórico-lógico, entre otros. Se puso en práctica el método empírico para medir, analizar, registrar y transformar la práctica de la investigación en un proceso científico.
The orderly and planned territorial development constitutes a road to attenuate the difficulties from the socioeconomic point of view. The Index of Municipal Development is a tool of great utility if one wants to prioritize the decisions related with the future development of the towns of the country. The general objective of this investigation is to apply the Index of Municipal Development (IMD) to the county of Sancti Spíritus to determine the development levels reached in each one of the municipalities of the same one". In such a sense the work was structured in two chapters: the first sample the methodological theoretical aspects about the National Statistical System and their indicators, in the second, the method of the calculation of the IMD is applied for each one of the municipalities of the county of Sancti Spíritus in a nine year-old period from 2002 to 2010. In this investigation it go from the general to the particular and also the analysis methods and synthesis were used, the historical-logical one, among others. It puts into practice the empiric method to measure, to analyze, to register and to transform the practice of the investigation in a scientific process
