Resumen
(Alcaide, 1973), plantea que la idea de mantener unos caudales mínimos en los
ríos no resulta absolutamente nueva. En el siglo XIX, por ejemplo, se llegó a fijar
por tramos la anchura normal de las aguas medias de los ríos del norte de
Alemania.
En Cuba se emplea una resolución24/ 99 del INRH que norma el aporte de caudales
diarios.
En el caso del Río Sagua la Chica, espacio natural de extraordinario interés
ecológico nacional, el "caudal ecológico mínimo " previsto en Res 24 /99 del
INRH(Hidráulicos, 1999) de las presas involucradas en el aporte hídrico al Río
Sagua la Chica es de 1527 l/s y el cálculo del caudal ecológico mínimo es de 1420 l/s.
Se realizaron los cálculos obteniendo valores de caudales medios anuales de
3393.87 m3/s con un caudal medio de corrientes ordinarias de 2388.71 m3/s, lo que
demuestra que el valor del caudal aportado según resolución se debe incrementar
para el mantenimiento de la biótica de la región.
