Resumen
En la construcción de vías, ya sean urbanas o rurales, uno de los aspectos más importantes
que se debe tener en cuenta es la evacuación de las aguas que caen sobre la plataforma de la
vía, sus alrededores, la que corre por los cauces naturales del terreno y la que se infiltra y
circula en el subsuelo. Con este objetivo se comenzaron a instalar sistemas de drenaje que
evitan que el agua de lluvia que cae sobre la vía y la que corría por los cauces naturales del
terreno penetrara dentro del suelo de la explanación, con el fin de preservar viales de gran
importancia, brindar seguridad vial y estructural. Es necesario aclarar que, debido a su
importancia, en la mayoría de los casos el criterio de drenaje rige el diseño geométrico de la
vía; además, este aspecto resulta determinante en el caso de que se esté urbanizando una
zona construida.
El presente trabajo de diploma pretende analizar desde el punto de vista técnico el sistema de
drenaje pluvial existente en el tramo de carretera del kilómetro 3 al 4 en la carretera Santa
Clara-Entronque Vueltas, en la urbanización “El Gigante”, con el fin de proponer una alternativa
de solución a las inundaciones en el tramo de vía a través de un conjunto de medidas
estructurales o no estructurales, buscando reducir al máximo posible retardos en el drenaje
rural y suburbano existente en la zona, evitando daños a la estructura vial y edificaciones
aledañas.

It is necessary to become clear than, due to his importance, for the most part the opinion of drainage governs the road's geometric design; besides, this aspect proves to be determining in the event that a constructed zone be urbanized. The present work of diploma attempts examining from the technical point of view the pluvial existent drainage system at the stretch of road of the kilometer 3 to the 4 at the road Santa Clara-Entronque Vueltas, at the housing development “El Gigante”, with the aim of proposing an alternative of solution to the floodings at the stretch of road through a set of measures structural or not structure them, searching to reduce delays at the rural drainage and existent suburbanite at the zone to the possible peak, avoiding damages to the road structure and bordering edifications.
