Resumen
Desde el comienzo de la civilización ha sido de total interés de las personas la
construcción de una vivienda adecuada, que tenga cada vez mayor calidad de manera
que resulte duradera y segura para constituir la familia, protegerse de los embates del
clima y los desastres naturales, en un ambiente tranquilo y con un nivel promedio de
confort. Esto solo puede lograrse gracias a la existencia de los materiales de
construcción, que resultan cada vez más variados, que en las actuales condiciones
económicas del mundo encarecen y se hace muy difícil el acceso a ellos, por lo que, en
nuestro país, se determinó que una manera de resolver esta situación es el trabajo por
cuenta propia aplicado a la construcción de viviendas y la producción local de
materiales.
El presente trabajo constituye la continuidad de otros estudios realizados sobre el costo
de los materiales y la mano de obra para la construcción de viviendas de diferentes
tipologías con medios propios, en la provincia de Cienfuegos, para lo cual nos
apoyamos en una compilación de datos del sector estatal y no estatal acerca de los
precios establecidos para este fin, y a partir de los resultados obtenidos realizar una
comparación de sus costos.
