Work is underway to conduct a preliminary study of the production of biodiesel from oil derived from marine microalgae. A literature search was performed in order to select the most feasible alternative production and raw materials to carry out the process, where it is determined that the best is the kind Isocrhysis galbana and biodiesel production process from acid and base catalysis. We also carried out mass balances of the technological process and the technological proposal of a pilot plant with equipment sizing it up, yielding the result that the process is technically feasible and from 100 kg of dried seaweed is possible to obtain 27.34 kg of biodiesel. Later a financial feasibility study, which shows that the process for this scale is not feasible without the use of the components present in the co-products.
