De ahí, que la presente investigación se centre en caracterizar el periodismo de servicio en la revista Mujeres, durante los años 2016 y 2017. Para ello se analizaron los principales contenidos, tipos de servicio y rasgos de estilo manifestados en las seis publicaciones impresas correspondientes a este periodo. La investigación se realiza desde una perspectiva cualitativa y deviene un estudio de mensaje. Se afilia al paradigma interpretativo y es del tipo descriptivo. La aplicación del análisis de contenido, la revisión bibliográfica, la observación no participante y las entrevistas estructuradas, semiestructuradas y en profundidad, permitieron obtener como resultados principales de la investigación: que la revista difunde contenidos tradicionales del periodismo de servicio e incorpora otros como: empoderamiento de la mujer, racismo, violencia, sexualidad, trata de personas y Derecho; atemperados al contexto cubano. Además se constataron las diferentes tipologías del periodismo de servicio, que por lo general aparecen hibridadas, y se detectaron insuficiencias en cuanto a los rasgos de estilo; principalmente en lo referente al empleo de recursos gráficos.Service journalism is one of the current trends of the journalism profession to face the challenges of technological transformations and strong media competition. Hence, the present investigation focuses on characterizing service journalism in the magazine Mujeres, during the years 2016 and 2017. For this, the main contents, types of service and style features manifested in the six printed publications corresponding to this period. The research is done from a qualitative perspective and becomes a message study. It is affiliated with the interpretive paradigm and is of a descriptive type. The application of content analysis, bibliographic review, non-participant observation and structured, semi-structured and in-depth interviews allowed us to obtain the main results of the research: that the journal disseminates traditional content of service journalism and incorporates others such as: empowerment of women, racism, non-state employment, violence and Law; tempered to the Cuban context.
