A partir de diversas investigaciones, se ha podido constatar que la Lingüística Contrastiva y los métodos que abarca (Análisis contrastivo, Análisis de Errores y la Interlengua), no solo están orientados a establecer las principales diferencias que existen entre dos lenguas, sino que ayudan en el perfeccionamiento del proceso de aprendizaje de un idioma extranjero.
