Este, según la dirección del área energética de la institución, consume aproximadamente el 80% de la energía eléctrica. Por ello, con la intención de apoyar el sistema de clima, las características de la radiación incidente y el hecho de que el funcionamiento de la entidad es mayormente durante horas diurnas, se elaboró un estudio de oportunidad y dimensionamiento de un sistema de climatización de apoyo por absorción abastecido por energía solar térmica. Para ello se partió de informaciones obtenidas por la propia institución como la carga térmica actual media en cada mes a lo largo de todo el año y se evitó que en el transcurso de este la variante propuesta excediera la capacidad frigorífica demandada con el objetivo de justificar en la mayor medida posible en términos de ahorro la posible inversión realizada.The international airport "Abel Santamaría Cuadrado" it has among their characteristics an increment of their capacity that today still continues in ascent, for what has been subjected to several amplification processes being the system of air conditioning undersized.
