This paper is based on determining which systems pumping largest consumers of electricity in the Central UEB sugar Heriberto Duquesnes, in order to provide solutions that provide reducing power consumption in such systems are. In chapter one the general flow of the company in order to become familiar with the economic activity of the unit is discussed. In chapter two twenty pumping systems where the liquid flow to transport, load or height to be developed by the pump, required in the transportation of fluid power and continuity of the work of pumping equipment was taken into account were analyzed. Delos analyzed systems were concluded that the largest consumers of electricity were: -Pumping system juice heaters. - Pumping system juice diluted rotary sieve. - Pumping system water injection capacitors. - Pumping system feed water to the steam generators. In the third chapter hydraulic energy losses, the actual flow of water and juice required by each system bombeo para process and the energy supplied to the pump system should be determined. The above calculated parameters provided the information needed to establish whether the pumping equipment selected were right or wrong. Finally an economic assessment on unnecessary energy costs caused by the improper selection of pumping equipment is performed.
