Resumen
La creciente demanda de energía a nivel mundial ha tenido como efecto una mayor demanda de combustibles fósiles lo cual ha conllevado a una búsqueda de combustibles alternativos como por ejemplo el biogás. El presente trabajo está orientado a evaluar la posibilidad de aprovechamiento energético del potencial de biogás de la unidad productora de cerdos Texico del municipio de Caibarién y su empleo como sustituto del diésel consumido en la Planta de Pienso Líquido y el consumo de electricidad del centro. En el mismo se estudian las generalidades sobre el biogás y, se calcula, con la ayuda del software RETScreen el potencial de biogás para cuatro momentos correspondientes a 531, 3 266, 4 000 y 10 000 cerdos caracterizando la unidad y su demanda energética en los procesos de cocción del PLP y la cría de los animales. Analizando financiera y medioambientalmente la viabilidad del proyecto para cada escenario.
The growing demand for energy worldwide has had an effect on the greater demand for fossil fuels, which has led to a search for alternative fuels such as biogas. The present work is aimed at evaluating the possibility of energy use of the biogas potential of the Texico pig production unit in the municipality of Caibarién and its use as a substitute for the diesel consumed in the Liquid Feed Plant and the center's electricity consumption.
