This paper presents the development of alloyed agglomerated fluxes according to a design of experiment, for hardfacing roller mats bulldozer through the process of submerged arc welding (SAW). We report the preparation of raw materials, procurement and testing of the fluxes, where the matrix is used as a commercial flux AN-348 and as alloying FeCrMn load obtained by aluminothermic processing of refractory chromite and pyrolusite in Welding Research Center (CIS). Deposits are obtained for the different fluxes produced and performed the characterization of the deposits in terms of chemical composition, metallography, hardness and microhardness. It is concluded that the deposits are characterized by the presence of C, Cr, and Mn and that the presence of chromium carbides evenly distributed is the most favorable condition for the recharge of the bulldozer rollers.
