The suction parameter that appears as a modifier of the tensional state in partially saturated soils is considered by several authors as a factor that influences the tension-deformation curve of the same, producing considerable increases in the load capacity by increasing the value of said parameter. Due to this, several authors have directed their research to the formulation of new expressions that allow making more rational geotechnical designs in accordance with these increases. In this research it is intended based on these formulations demonstrate by means of a threedimensional model the effect of matrix suction in soil behavior, making use of structural modeling techniques and implementing the finite element method.
