Resumen
La presente investigación pretende identificar las características y particularidades socioeconómicas del municipio de Manicaragua. Para lograr los objetivos propuestos se han utilizado los conceptos de desarrollo local y planificación territorial y local, así como una breve explicación de las etapas de este último aspecto; además se han expuesto diversas definiciones que son de vital
importancia para la comprensión del tema. Particularmente en el territorio estudiado se ha hecho un análisis de la situación existente tanto de forma general como específica, reconociendo las potencialidades y deficiencias que presenta el
municipio, para lograr, a través de una etapa de diagnóstico, el ulterior diseño de estrategias de desarrollo local a partir de las cuales se alcanzarán resultados que puedan reanimar la economía y el desarrollo de la localidad, a través de iniciativas
en aquellos sectores, cuyas condiciones lo permitan.
El trabajo constituye un modesto aporte a las investigaciones sobre el tema que hoy reclama el país, en aras de lograr un resultado positivo desde las potencialidades con que cuentan los territorios.
This investigation focuses on the study of the social and economical characteristics of the municipality of Manicaragua. It has used concepts such as development and planning to obtain the proposed objectives, as well as a short explanation of the deferent stages of planning. B esides it manages many concepts which are very important to understand the point at issue. A big analysis has been done to know about the general and specific situation of territory recognising its richness and weakness trough a diagnosis which purpose is to design the future strategies of local development to improve the economy and other fields which conditions allow to do it. It is a worthy contribution to the local development, which is very important for the future of Cuba, depending on the strength of every single area, in order to get big and positive results.
