dc.description.abstractEn el presente trabajo de diploma se realiza un estudio de las fallas en la infraestructura y el equipamiento de acero inoxidable usado en el Hotel Paradisus Los Cayos ubicado en Cayo Santa María. Se describe brevemente la historia del acero inoxidable, su definición, así como sus principales clasificaciones, sus aplicaciones y los fenómenos de degradación que presenta. Se realiza una caracterización de la instalación hotelera que abarca una descripción de sus características generales, del uso del acero inoxidable en el equipamiento y en la infraestructura y del sistema de mantenimiento propuesto por el Manual de Servicios Técnicos de Gaviota para este tipo de instalación. La inspección realizada a este hotel muestra la degradación en el equipamiento e infraestructura donde se usa acero inoxidable. Es recurrente la corrosión por picadura y la corrosión galvánica, que a pesar del poco o ningún tiempo de uso afectan el desempeño o estética de los objetos. Se proponen acciones para corregir estas fallas basado en la norma ASTM A380-06, las que permiten restablecer o atenuar los fenómenos de degradación presentes.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis work shows a study of the failures in the infrastructure and the equipment made of stainless steel in the Hotel Paradisus Los Cayos located in Cayo Santa María. The history of stainless steel, its definition, as well as its main classifications, its applications and the degradation phenomena it presents are briefly described. A characterization of the hotel installation is carried out, covering a description of its general characteristics, the use of stainless steel in the equipment and infrastructure, and the maintenance system proposed by the Gaviota Technical Services Manual for this type of installation. The inspection of this hotel shows the degradation in the equipment and infrastructure where stainless steel is used. It is recurrent pitting and galvanic corrosion, which despite the little or no time of use affect the performance or aesthetics of the objects. Actions are proposed to correct these faults based on the ASTM A380-06 standard, which allow to restore or attenuate the degradation phenomena present.en_US
