Resumen
The present investigation is a descriptive study carried out in Santa Clara, Villa Clara,
from December 2010 to May 2011, having as objective to describe the particularities
that present the Emotional Recognition and the Memory of Faces in institutionalized
bigger adults and not institutionalized with normal aging. The sample was made by
bigger 50 adults, understood in a range from 65 to 70 years of age. For the obtaining
of the data three tests were applied: Mini Cognitive Exam (MEC), Cambridage
Memory Test for Faces (Spanish Version) (CMTF), and the International FACE Dates
Base.
When analyzing the data statistical methods they were applied for that which the
program SPSS was appealed 18.0 using a variance analysis multi varied by General
Lineal Model procedure and to analyze the differences among the groups the
Appearance of Hotelling. The results revealed so much deterioration in the emotional
recognition as in the memory for faces, being this very accented one in the
institutionalized bigger adults which presented a high significance level in both
techniques. The emotions that presented very difficulty to be identified were the
negatives in the following order: the fear, then the anger, disgust, sadness and
neutral. In that referred to the recognition of the emotion happiness significant
differences they were not evidenced.
