considerados comomuy altos, 15 (26,79 %) aceptables, 8 (14,29 %) medios, 2
The usability evaluation ensures proper operation of systems and services in the digital environment, as well as user satisfaction. To conduct the heuristic assessment was applied the model proposed by Hassan Montero and Martín Fernández, analyzing 9 groups of heuristic indicators: generals, identity and information, language and redaction, labeled, structure and navigation, lay-out of the page, search, multimedia elements anduser’shelp. A questionnaire was applied to the 100 % of the librarians who are operating the repository. A quantitative measure was proposed by the author to analyze each item included in to the questionnaire, also a qualitative scale was developed to express the final considerations about the study. A sample of 10 librarian was selected randomly from the group that had participated previously in the survey, they all participated in afocus group with aim to obtain more information about the probably causes of the heuristic test results. From de 56 elements included in the heuristic test 27 (48, 21%) achieved high scores, 15 (26, 79%)acceptable, 8 (14, 29%)medium, 2 (3, 57%)lowand4 (7, 14%) very low. The heuristic's group related with User’s Help showed the worst results. The usability of Dspace@UCLV was considered as acceptable, but is necessary to improve some elements for a higher levels of user satisfaction and a best system functionality
