Resumen
La acción de conservar las edificaciones del centro histórico de Trinidad con morteros actuales no ha tenido resultados positivos debido a la incompatibilidad de los materiales con los componentes de los muros históricos, lo cual ha mantenido el deterioro existente de las mismas y su aumento gradual.
A partir del reconocimiento de un grupo de edificaciones del centro histórico de Trinidad, el presente trabajo se planteó como objetivos el estudio de materiales disponibles en la zona y de mezclas de morteros, que puedan ser empleados en la restauración de las mismas. Para ello se partió de estudios realizados primeramente a los morteros históricos producto de la toma de muestras, lo que permitió, con análisis de laboratorio, seleccionar materiales con propiedades y características similares. La investigación culmina con la propuesta de mezclas a partir de los materiales seleccionados, teniendo en cuenta los resultados de los ensayos realizados.
Los resultados que brinda la investigación podrán ser empleados de forma práctica en las actividades de restauración en la ciudad de Trinidad, trabajos que ejecuta La Oficina del Conservador de la ciudad, evidenciando la necesidad de preservar los inmuebles de valores patrimoniales, siendo un legado para futuras generaciones.
The action of conserving the buildings of the historical center of Trinidad with mortars today has not had positive results due to the incompatibility of the materials with the components of the historic walls, which has maintained the existing deterioration of the same and its gradual increase. Based on the recognition of a group of buildings in the historic center of Trinidad, the present work set out as objectives the study of materials available in the area and mortar mixtures, which can be used in the restoration of the same. To this end, we started with studies carried out first of all on historical mortars, the product of the taking of samples, which allowed, with laboratory analysis, to select materials with similar properties and characteristics. The investigation culminates with the proposal of mixtures from the selected materials, taking into account the results of the tests carried out. The results that the investigation provides can be used in a practical way in the restoration activities in the city of Trinidad, works executed by the Office of the Conservator of the city, evidencing the need to preserve the buildings of heritage values, being a legacy for future generations.
