Abstract
Abstract
The growing demand for energy worldwide has been the cause of a greater demand for fossil fuels, which has led to a search for alternative fuels such as biogas. This work is framed in the international FRE Local project and aimed at establishing the conceptual engineering of a system that deals with the production and supply of biogas in the La Pastora Genetic Center. It establishes criteria for the reconversion of the current waste treatment system of the pig unit, with a view to transforming it into a Cuban hybrid biodigester, as well as creating a waste transport system for feeding the digester and transferring it. from the residual sludge to the drying dishes to obtain biofertilizer. In addition, the main elements are provided to achieve an adequate supply of biogas to possible end users. In this study, as possible end uses of biogas, the energy supply to the cassava drying process for animal feeding purposes, the gasification of neighboring communities and self-consumption in own processes of the pig unit such as the slaughter of pigs and elaboration of meat products
