Resumen
En el presente trabajo se aborda una estrategia para la obtención de materiales abrasivos. A partir de mezclas de minerales y/o residuales industriales se conforman varias mezclas las que permiten, mediante procesamiento aluminotérmico, obtener aleaciones metálicas y escorias con características
abrasivas. Se conformaron tres mezclas diferentes: 1) pirolusita, aluminio y dolomita, 2) pirolusita, aluminio, dolomita y grafito y 3) pirolusita, aluminio y cromita, donde la estrategia de conformación de las mezclas responde a las necesidades de las aleaciones para el desarrollo de consumibles de soldadura. El procesamiento pirometalúrgico de estas mezclas se realiza en un reactor de grafito con un consumo mínimo de energía el que permite la obtención de aleaciones aptas para su uso en la formulación de cargas aleantes de consumibles de soldadura y de escorias de características abrasivas. Las escorias obtenidas fueron probadas en la elaboración de algunos prototipos de
materiales abrasivos.
Presently work is approached a strategy for the obtaining of abrasive materials. Starting from mixtures of minerals and/or residual industrial they conform to several mixtures those that allow, by means of prosecution aluminotérmico, to obtain alloys and scums with characteristic abrasive. They conformed to three different mixtures: 1) pirolusita, aluminum and dolomita, 2) pirolusita, aluminum, dolomita and graphite and 3) pirolusita, aluminum and cromita, where the strategy of conformation of the mixtures responds to the necessities of the alloys for the development of consumable of welding. The prosecution pirometalúrgico of these mixtures is carried out in a graphite reactor with a minimum onsumption of energy and it allows the obtaining of capable alloys for its use in the formulation of loads aleantes of consumable of welding and of scums of characteristic abrasive. The obtained scums were proven in the elaboration of some prototypes of abrasive materials.
