Abstract
In the present work, a study was made of the municipalities of Ranchuelo and Santo Domingo, where the possibility of constructing a conduit to supply drinking water to the towns of said municipalities was analyzed; using the Palmarito reservoir where a pumping station will be built, which will pump the water to a treatment plant located in the town of San Juan de los Yeras. Subsequently, the water will be conducted using the force of gravity towards the deposits located in each town. In order to make the system work efficiently, it is necessary to correctly dimension the entire network and determine the optimum diameters for each section; as well as its speed, flow, losses, pressures and internal diameters of each pipe depending on its pressure. To achieve an effectiveness in the design process, the WaterGEMS software was used, which facilitated these calculation processes that allow us to perform an extended period analysis in which it is intended to deliver twice the maximum daily flow (2Qmaxd) in a period of 12 hours thereby demonstrating the correct functioning of the whole conductor and the good sizing of each of the components that make it up.
