In the research carried out, the behavior of masonry mortars made with LC2 was evaluated. To this end, a series of physical-mechanical and durability tests were carried out in accordance with the specifications established in the Cuban standard NC 175: 2002. The pozzolanic addition consists of 60% calcined clay, 40% limestone and 10% gypsum. To analyze and evaluate the behavior that the addition of LC 2 can have in masonry mortars, an experimental design was made in which the definitions of dependent variables were considered, responding to the properties of the mortars in their different states and independent variables, analyzing factors such as cement volume and addition to be used. The raw materials were characterized and 36 prismatic samples of 40 x 40 x 160 mm were prepared for the performance of the flexocompression and capillary absorption. Tests of consistency, water retention, density and adherence to mixtures in dry, fresh and hardened state were made. The results obtained satisfactorily validated the use of the LC2 addition in masonry mortars according to the specifications required by Cuban regulations.
