Resumen
En el presente trabajo se desarrolla un estudio del método de cosecha y transporte de la caña
en nuestro país. Se tiene en cuenta la situación que se presentaba con el método que se
empelaba en Cuba hasta hace aproximadamente una década en que la mayor parte de la
materia prima era cortada por combinadas y trasladada por camiones y tractores con carretas
hasta centros de limpieza desde donde se cargaba a un ferrocarril que la llevaba hasta el
basculador. Con esto se producía un tiempo excesivo entre el corte de la caña y la molida de
la misma. Se estudia con profundidad el método que se ha venido imponiendo en el mundo y
en particular en el país y en el cual se emplean combinadas de alta productividad y que
producen una mayor limpieza de la materia prima, la tendencia es que la caña que se cosecha
por este método alimente grandes equipos automotores y ellos descarguen la materia prima
directo en el basculador del ingenio (tiro directo). Con esto se logra disminuir sustancialmente
el tiempo entre la cosecha y la molida pero se presenta la situación de que con este método
no se logra la separación de las materias extrañas que se alcanzaba con el método antiguo y
la entrada de este elemento en la fábrica ha aumentado. En el trabajo se analizan las ventajas
y desventajas de la aplicación de este método.
In the present work a study of the method of harvesting and transport of the cane in our country is developed. In the paper the advantages and disadvantages of the application of this method are analyzed.
