At present, the main Technological Universities and Industrial Research Laboratories in the world, dedicate efforts to tribological analyzes. In this way resources are routed to the design and construction of machines designed to test the abrasion of metals. However scuffing in aqueous media has been little known in the literature. Therefore, in the present investigation a wet tribological machine prototype for abrasive wear measurement on metal parts immersed in aqueous media is developed. This design is made using wet sand and rubber wheel according to ASTM G105. This work begins with a literature review to identify the main requirements and functional characteristics of the machine. Where weight loss, measured by the number of cycles or sliding distance is the main parameter to measure and control this type of assay. For this study the criteria of previous investigations are took, obtaining as a result, a functional design that allows standardized tests, as effective as possible and adapted to the existing conditions in the Laboratory of Resistance at Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas.
