Resumen
La ciudad de Sagua La Grande que ya va alcanzando las dos centurias de existencia
cuenta con un rico patrimonio construido, dentro del cual se incluyen los inmuebles
de influencia Art Nouveau. Las investigaciones sobre el tema se limitan a algunos
artículos (publicados) que contienen información sobre un edificio en específico o que
comprenden la localidad en general, pudiéndose afirmar (sin ser absolutos) que no
existe ningún estudio realizado con el fin de caracterizar y analizar estas peculiares
edificaciones; por lo que la presente investigación titulada: “El Art Nouveau en el
Centro Histórico Urbano de Sagua La Grande”, tiene como objetivo realizar una
caracterización de la influencia nouveau en las edificaciones del C.H.U.
Efectuando una profunda revisión bibliográfica especializada se analizaron
definiciones, características, orígenes y evolución del Art Nouveau y su proyección
en el continente americano, además se estudió la evolución de la ciudad de Sagua
La Grande en los aspectos económico, social, urbanístico y arquitectónicos hasta la
década del treinta del Siglo XX,, quedando así descritas la circunstancias en que se
desarrolla la corriente estilística objeto de estudio.
Mediante la observación documental y de campo, se ubicaron las edificaciones de
filiación Art Nouveau en el Centro Histórico Urbano de la ciudad y se sintetizaron los
datos obtenidos en fichas y tablas; información que contribuyó a la caracterización de
este tipo de arquitectura. De esta forma, se logró arribar a las conclusiones que dan
respuesta a los objetivos trazados y a recomendaciones que faciliten la
implementación y continuidad de la investigación.
The city of Sagua La Grande which is now reaching the two centuries of existence has rich built heritage within which influences include Art Nouveau buildings. Research on the subject are limited to some articles (published) containing information about a specific building or comprising the locality in general, being able to say (without being absolute) there is no study to characterize and analyze these distinctive buildings, so this research titled "The Art Nouveau in the Urban Historic Centre of Sagua La Grande", is to make a characterization of the influence nouveau buildings in the CHU Conducting a thorough literature review analyzed specialized definitions, characteristics, origins and evolution of Art Nouveau and its projection in the Americas, also studied the evolution of the city of Sagua La Grande in the economic, social, urban and architectural to thirties and are thus described the circumstances in which it develops stylistic current object of study. Through documentary and field observation, the buildings were located affiliation Art Nouveau in the Urban Historic Centre of the city and synthesized data from chips and tables, information that contributed to the characterization of this type of architecture. Thus, it was possible to arrive at the conclusions that respond to the goals set and recommendations to facilitate the implementation and continuity of research.
