Resumen
El presente trabajo forma parte de un estudio mayor sobre el Patrimonio Edificado en la Provincia de Cienfuegos, específicamente sobre su Arquitectura Ferroviaria. El cual está orientado hacia la determinación de los valores arquitectónicos, las características constructivas, planimetría y estilo, con el objetivo de establecer estrategias para su protección y conservación. En el trabajo, además como parte de la comprensión del tema en estudio, incluye un análisis desde el punto de vista histórico, económico y social de la industria azucarera en la antigua región de Cienfuegos y de la llegada y desarrollo del ferrocarril en el territorio, durante gran parte del siglo XIX y primera mitad del XX.
The present work is part of a study bigger envelope the Built Patrimony in the County of Cienfuegos, specifically on its Rail Architecture. Which is guided toward the determination of the architectural values, the constructive characteristics, mapping and style, with the objective of establishing strategies for their protection and conservation. In the work, also like part of the understanding of the topic in study, includes an analysis from the historical, economic and social point of view of the sugar industry in the old region of Cienfuegos and of the arrival and development of the railroad in the territory, during great part of the XIX century and first half of the XX one.
