Resumen
El presente estudio aborda la evolución tipológica y estilística del cementerio durante el siglo XIX en las antiguas provincias de Matanzas, Santa Clara y Puerto Príncipe. Se identifican tres variantes de cementerio que se suceden durante el siglo, las cuales quedan definidas como: variante primitiva, variante neoclásica y variante romántica, donde cada una se encuentra sujeta a patrones socioculturales específicos y supera a la anterior por su diseño y valor ambiental. Asimismo se demuestra la evolución tipológica y estilística de las obras de arquitectura que las integran, dígase obras generales y sepulturas.
El primer capítulo articula la propuesta metodológica para caracterizar la evolución del cementerio durante el siglo XIX. Para arribar a bases metodológicas se desarrolla un análisis de fuentes teóricas, culturales e históricas que permiten establecer conceptos pertinentes, así como criterios que posibilitan contrastar las distintas variantes encontradas. El segundo capítulo se encarga del análisis planimétrico, de ahí que se describa la evolución en cuanto a trazado, estructura y morfología en cada una de las variantes. El capítulo tres se ocupa de la evolución tipológica y estilística de las obras generales y de las sepulturas.
The present study addresses the typological and stylistic evolution of the cemetery during the 19th century in the former provinces of Matanzas, Santa Clara and Port-au-Prince. Three variants of the cemetery that occur during the century are identified, which are defined as: primitive variant, neoclassical variant and romantic variant, each of which is subject to specific sociocultural patterns and exceeds the previous one by its design and value environmental. In the same way the typological and stylistic evolution of the architectural works that integrate them is demonstrated, say general works and burials. The first chapter articulates the methodological proposal to characterize the evolution of the cemetery during the 19th century. To arrive at methodological bases, an analysis of theoretical, cultural and historical sources is developed that allow establishing relevant concepts, as well as criteria that make it possible to contrast the different variants found. The second chapter deals with the planimetric analysis, hence the evolution in terms of layout, structure and morphology in each of the variants is described. Chapter three deals with the typological and stylistic evolution of general works and graves.
