dc.description.abstractThe courses of History and Literature of the English Speaking Countries for the English Language Studies with a Second Foreign Language (French) at Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas are facing some problems with the availability, organization and level of update of the bibliography, neglecting at times the use of Information and Communication Technologies to meet the demands of the technological era. Furthermore, the use of maps as a basic teaching aid for these subjects is restricted. The main goal of this diploma paper is to propose an interactive atlas for improving the teaching and learning process of the aforementioned courses. The research´s methodology followed a qualitative paradigm and the results from the needs´ analysis as well as the theoretical rationale behind the research´s topic were taken into account for the design of the proposal. The atlas was created with WordPress, an open-source software and the library of maps amCharts. Both, specialists in the field of technology and of the intended courses assessed the proposal following diverse criteria like: completeness, reliability, accessibility and applicability which validated it as a valuable tool for the purpose it was created.en_US
