Sistema de textos y tareas para el desarrollo de la habilidad de compresión lectora en los alumnos de 9 grado

Resumen
El sistema educacional cubano prioriza el idioma inglés por su importancia internacional
y su aplicación en todas las esferas de la sociedad cubana. En la enseñanza
Secundaria Básica, los profesores de la asignatura Inglés imparten docencia de
calidad, pero aun así los alumnos presentan carencias en el desarrollo de las
habilidades comunicativas básicas en ese idioma.
La presente investigación aborda específicamente la habilidad de comprensión lectora
en alumnos de 9º grado. El diagnóstico realizado al respecto reveló que, además de
tener insuficiencias en el desarrollo de esta habilidad, los alumnos no están motivados
por las lecturas del cuaderno de trabajo, en tanto estas no guardan relación con los
intereses y aspiraciones de los adolescentes de esa edad. Además, los textos no son
suficientes para dar un adecuado tratamiento a la habilidad. Como una vía de solución
a esta situación problémica se propone un sistema de textos seleccionados de
diferentes bibliografías partiendo, fundamentalmente, del criterio de significatividad para
el alumno. Se incluyen también las tareas correspondientes, diseñadas a partir de los
preceptos del enfoque comunicativo
The Cuban Educational System gives priority to the teaching of English language for its international importance and its application in all the spheres of the Cuban society. In Secondary School, English programs are of great quality, but still, students show poor development on the four major communicative skills in this language. The present paper deals specifically with the ability of reading comprehension in 9 th grade students. The diagnosis carried out in this regard, revealed that, besides having insufficiencies in the development of the skill, the students are not motivated towards the reading in the workbook, for they do not meet their interests and aspirations as teenagers. In addition, the amount of readings is not enough to provide an adequate treatment to the development of such skill. As a possible solution, a system of readings is proposed, chosen from different sources, but following a criterion of significance in the first place. The corresponding reading tasks are also included, which were all designed in the light of the principles of CLT
