Event tourism is becoming increasingly important for the future growth of the global economy, as an essential part of the dissemination of knowledge and professional practices, as well as a key factor to improve understanding and relations between different regions and cultures. Cuba has been earning a deserved place among the tourist destinations specialized in the event tourism modality, fostered by the development of infrastructure with facilities for the development of events, together with modern technologies and specialized services that favor the most varied needs of the customers. One of the main destinations of the modality is Villa Clara, in which the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas stands out, due to its relevance both at a national and international level, as the venue for the development of events. However, despite the interest of the Ministry of Higher Education in promoting the development of events, together with the potential and strengths of the University, there is no integration in the products of offered events that allows the diversification of the offer. In this sense, and based on the interest of the university management, the research is outlined in designing a tourism product of events; starting with a bibliographic analysis, which allows establishing the theoretical-methodological bases and the decanting by the procedures of Bermúdez (2013) and MEPROTUR proposed by Funcia, C. et al. (2009), both scientifically proven, and directed, respectively, at the diagnosis and design of tourism products and their commercialization. Methods and techniques such as document review and survey processing were used.
