Evaluación de las potencialidades para el desarrollo del Turismo Rural en el municipio de Sancti Spíritus

Abstract

La actividad turística actual ha tomado nuevas tendencias enfocadas en el contacto con la naturaleza y el aprendizaje de la historia y cultura de otras regiones, dando paso al turismo sostenible como fuente de desarrollo local para las comunidades. Entre todas las modalidades turísticas, el turismo rural se ha convertido en la base fundamental para este desarrollo, por lo que la presente investigación se plantea como objetivo principal evaluar las potencialidades que poseen los espacios rurales del municipio de Sancti Spíritus para su uso con fines turísticos propiciando que se les dé un uso adecuado a las mismas en la futura elaboración de las estrategias de desarrollo local del municipio. Con el fin de cumplimentar dicho objetivo se analizaron diferentes procedimientos de la bibliografía consultada y se decidió emplear el propuesto por Guinés (2011) debido a que integra en su análisis las variables fundamentales a tener en cuenta para la evaluación del potencial turístico de un territorio, siendo además adaptable para espacios rurales. Cumple con la necesidad actual de crear novedosas y diversas ofertas. Es la primera vez que se realiza un inventario profundo de todas las potencialidades rurales del municipio así como su evaluación, constatándose que posee una amplia gama de recursos y atractivos potenciales para incluir en el producto Sancti Spíritus.

Tourist activity has taken a new tendencies focused on the contact with the nature and learning of the history and culture of other regions, opening the way to the sustainable tourism as source of local development for communities. Among all tourist modalities, the rural tourism has become the fundamental base for this development, the present investigation has as main objective the evaluation of potentialities inside the rural spaces of the Sancti Spíritus municipality for its use with tourist purpose, propitiating that they are given an appropriate use to the same ones in the future elaboration of the strategies of local development of the municipality. With the purpose of reach this objective different procedures were analyzed of the consulted bibliography, was decided use the proposed by Guinés (2011) because it integrates in their analysis the fundamental variables to keep in mind for the evaluation of the tourist potential of a territory, being also adaptive for rural spaces. It fulfills the current necessity of creating new and diverse offers base on the integration of all the attractiveness and components of a destination, achieving the authenticity of the same ones and responding to the new unsatisfied demands of the market. It is the first time that is carried out a deep inventory of all the rural potentialities of the municipality as well as their evaluation, being verified that it possesses a wide range of resources and potential attractiveness to include in the product Sancti Spíritus.
