dc.description.abstractEl problema de los asentamientos precarios ha tomado un matiz importante a nivel mundial, siendo un significativo punto a tratar dentro de las agendas de gobierno en las ciudades latinoamericanas y caribeñas. Cuba no se encuentra ajena a esta realidad, si bien los asentamientos precarios han ido en aumento, también la importancia otorgada a su estudio y tratamiento. Villa Clara es una de las provincias más afectadas por este fenómeno y dentro de ella Sagua La Grande, presenta los índices más elevados. Un estudio realizado por el gobierno municipal, reveló que es Villa Alegre, el barrio donde se concentra mayor número de inequidades. Esta problemática precisa de una solución actualizada, que se concreta en la propuesta de un plan general para la regeneración del barrio, que garantice la eliminación progresiva de la precariedad y el fortalecimiento de sus potencialidades. La utilización de diferentes métodos de investigación hizo posible el diagnóstico y caracterización de la zona estudiada, cuyos resultados sirvieron de base para el diseño del plan general del barrio que tiene como elemento fundamental la regeneración del mismo desde la consolidación de su identidad y tradiciones culturales y religiosas, para elevar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes, haciendo énfasis en la población vulnerable.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe situation of precarious settlements has taken an important place worldwide, being an important issue in the agenda of government in Latin American and Caribbean cities. Cuba is not out of this reality. The precarious settlements have increased as well as the importance given to its study and treatment. Villa Clara is one of the most affected provinces due to this phenomenon and Sagua la Grande is the most affected city. A Study carried out by the municipal government revealed that Villa Alegre is the neighborhood where there is the greatest number of inequities. This problem needs an updated solution that is materialized in the proposal of a general plan for the regeneration of this neighborhood. This plan will guarantee the progressive elimination of precariousness and the strengthening of the neighborhood potentialities. The use of different research methods made possible the assessment and characterization of the studied area. The result of this diagnosis serves as a base to design the general plan of the neighborhood. This plan has as fundamental element the regeneration of this area taking into account the consolidation of its identity, cultural and religious traditions in order to raise up the life quality of its people emphasizing the vulnerable population.en_US
