From the last decades of the 20th century on, contemporary architecture has been characterized by an unprecedental plurality; wich is the result of the technological, material, social and economic development achieved by mankind. Due to its formal complexity, this diversity of works and authors has not been property outlined to determine symbolic-expressive groups or to arrange in classes according to styles or stylistics variants. In addiction most publications on contemporany architecture are descriptive, wich does not gives rise to suitable classifications for making its study easier. In order to reverse that situation, a study on the last decade‟s widely followed trend had been conducted. Six contemporary styles sprung from it: Deconstructivism, Neomodern, Supermodernism, Minimalism, High Tech, and Bionic Architecture. Three of them embody the following stylistic variants: Light Construction, and Monolithic Architecture (Supermodernism); Climatic intelligent buildings, also know that Eco-Tech, and Dynamic Architecture (High Tech); and Green Architecture (Bionics). These styles and stylistics variants are being illustrated by a selection of works that is enriched with graphic information for a better understanding of the subject and a biographical synthesis that contains images of the most outstanding work of 32 architects along with highly influential researches had been made.
