Resumen
La información se encuentra organizada de distintas formas y existen diversos métodos para acceder a ella y manejarla. En ocasiones es necesario realizar estas tareas de forma global lo que coloca a los usuarios en una difícil situación debido a que dicha información puede encontrarse en diferentes fuentes de datos geográficamente dispersos y en distintas plataformas. Generalmente es necesario integrar estos sistemas de bases de datos para responder solicitudes de más alto nivel, consultas globales, lo que puede llevarse a cabo utilizando la unión de bases de datos existentes, la creación de almacenes de datos o la integración de bases de datos múltiples.
Además, los diseñadores y los usuarios colaboran para realizar el análisis de requisitos de problema del mundo real que se desea modelar y posteriormente generar el esquema global que lo representa, aunque, generalmente, se modelan diversos esquemas para la resolución del problema debido a las diferencias que pueden existir entre las percepciones de los usuarios.
Por otra parte, se requieren herramientas computacionales que simplifiquen el proceso de integración de esquemas conceptuales de bases de datos relacionales, por lo que el enfoque de este trabajo se centra en construir y describir semánticamente un conjunto de operadores, basados en una correspondencia semántica, que faciliten la integración de dichos esquemas conceptuales.
The information is organized in different ways and there are different methods to access it and manage it. Sometimes it is necessary to perform these tasks in a global way which places users in a difficult situation because this information can be found in different geographically dispersed data sources and in different platforms. It is usually necessary to integrate these database systems to respond to higher level requests, global queries, which can be carried out using the union of existing databases, the creation of data warehouses or the integration of multiple databases. In addition, designers and users collaborate to perform the analysis of real-world problem requirements to be modeled and then generate the overall scheme that represents it, although, generally, various schemes are modeled to solve the problem due to differences that may exist between the perceptions of users. On the other hand, computational tools are required to simplify the process of integrating conceptual schemas of relational databases, so the focus of this work is on semantically constructing and describing a set of operators, based on a semantic correspondence, which facilitate the integration of such conceptual schemes.
