Resumen
La enseñanza del idioma inglés en la Educación Superior en Cuba se inmersa en un proceso evolutivo de cambio de métodos y enfoques para lograr el dominio de esta lengua en función de los requerimientos y necesidades que imperan con el desarrollo de la sociedad. En la actualidad, el dominio del idioma inglés constituye un reto para la formación del profesional al constituir requisito de graduación y en este sentido, la aplicación de la Estrategia Curricular de Idioma Inglés, en las diferentes asignaturas y carreras, es fundamental. Sin embargo, no todos los profesores se preparan para enfrentar este reto. Es esta realidad la que propicia esta investigación que se sustenta en el método general dialéctico-materialista, donde se utilizan de forma combinada métodos del enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo. Se realiza un diagnóstico de necesidades relacionadas con el estado actual de los profesores de la carrera de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia en cuanto a la aplicación de la Estrategia Curricular de Idioma Inglés; cuyos resultados develan las carencias de los profesores en cuanto a la preparación en el idioma inglés; lo que conlleva a buscar una solución desde la vía científica. Por lo que se presenta una propuesta de sistema de acciones metodológicas con un glosario de términos veterinarios para propiciar la superación de los profesores de la carrera de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia. La propuesta es valorada mediante el criterio de especialistas y los 10 valoran su aplicabilidad y pertinencia de Muy Adecuada y sugieren la aplicación de esta.
Teaching English in Higher Education in Cuba is immersed in an evolutionary process of changing methods and approaches to achieve mastery of this language based on the requirements and needs that prevail with the development of society. At present, mastery of the English language constitutes a challenge for the training of the professional by constituting a graduation requirement and in this sense, the application of the English Language Curriculum Strategy, in the different subjects and careers, is fundamental. However, the teachers are not prepared to face this challenge. It is this reality that propitiates this research that is based on the general dialectical-materialist method, where methods of the quantitative and qualitative approach are used in combination. A diagnosis of needs related to the current status of professors in the Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics career regarding the application of the English Language Curriculum Strategy is made; whose results reveal the teachers' shortcomings in terms of preparation in the English language; what entails to look for a solution from the scientific route. Therefore, a proposal for a system of methodological actions is presented with a glossary of veterinary terms to promote the improvement of professors of the Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science degree. The proposal is valued by the criteria of specialists and the 10 assess its applicability and relevance of Very Adequate and suggest its application.
