This research was carried out in the radial system of Villa Clara, as according to the research interests of the methodological group of CMHW and of the department of Social Communication of the Central University ¨Marta Abreu¨ of Las Villas. Its general objective was to characterize the theoretical models to which the research investigation practices adjust in the radio in Villa Clara. According to the qualitative paradigm of the scientific investigation, multiple case studies were carried out from each of the radio stations that conform the radial system in Villa Clara. A bibliographical search was needed as well as a documentary search, the revision of official documents, the analysis of the content of the audience research comprised between the years 2007 and 2012, and the semi-structured interview to the main informants in relation to the theoretical-methodological concepts they work with in their implementation. It was concluded that the radial audience research practices in Villa Clara assume the theoretical-methodological features of the effect models. Such a conclusion was obtained from the methodological analysis, from the analysis of data and the analysis of sources of the results, through the above mentioned information-gathering techniques. Taking into account the results obtained, it is recommended to spread this research to the rest of the radio stations in the country and to the television system in Villa Clara as well.
