Resumen
El desarrollo de una nueva versión del editor de esquemas Entidad-Relación ERECASE, una herramienta de ayuda al diseño de bases de datos relacionales basada en software libre, ha sido la motivación para realizar este trabajo.
El mismo persigue ampliar sus funcionalidades, agregando al editor nuevas construcciones, basadas en la notación de Elmasri y Navathe. La herramienta no contaba con las fases de obtención de los esquemas lógico y físico de la base de datos, por lo que se ha diseñado un algoritmo que implementa un conjunto de reglas de transformación para obtener a partir del esquema conceptual, el esquema lógico de la base de datos. Finalmente, se propone un conjunto de herramientas y tecnologías que permitirán la obtención del esquema físico de la base de datos.
The development of a new version of the schema editor Entity-Relationship ERECASE, a supporting tool for designing relational data base, based on free software, has been the inspiration to carry out this project. Its main goal is to enlarge ERECASE functionalities by adding new constructions based on Elmasri-Navathe Notation. The former version of this tool did not have phases for obtaining data base's logical and physical schemas. That is why, a new algorithm that implements a set of rules of transformation to get data base logical scheme out of conceptual scheme, has been designed. The current dissertation also proposes a set of tools and technologies that will allow obtaining physical schema of data base.
