In the present work the researcher goes deeply into the learning process, taking onto account the psychological dimension with the objective of diagnosing the quality of this process in the group of students who are in the Psychology career with a semipresential modality; to do so, the problem was theoretically based, a diagnostic methodology was created and applied giving opportunity for the exploration of the phenomenon and finally, the different indicators under study were described. The investigation was carried out in Sagua la Grande municipality, a city in Villa Clara province. The sample was made up with students who are in the Psychology career at the University Headquarters in Sagua la Grande, a branch of The Marta Abreu Central University in Santa Clara. A mixed description exploratory study was carried out by means of an open flexible methodology. The results show that the diagnosis of indicators such as students’ style, strategy and approach in learning is indispensable to organize, manage and project the learning process under the semipresential modality. The applied methodology allowed to gather information that contributed certain instruments to be able to evaluate the quality of learning and to develop the differential help. Besides that, a low academic progress was observed what coincided with preestructural and multiestructural levels in the production of study material, low cognitive resources, limited professional enthusiasm, and the prevalence of superficial approaches. The researcher recommends the disclosing of information, the application of these instruments to other students and to offer the methodology for the evaluation of the learning quality.
