Abstract
A diferencia de la tradición periodística internacional, en los medios de comunicación estatales cubanos la práctica del periodismo de investigación (PI) resulta infrecuente. Sin embargo, se pueden encontrar elementos de la disciplina en reportajes interpretativos publicados en semanarios provinciales y nacionales. La investigación que se presenta caracteriza los rasgos de PI presentes en los reportajes interpretativos publicados por el periódico cienfueguero 5 de Septiembre, en el período 2014-2018. A
partir de un enfoque cualitativo y el empleo del análisis de contenido cualitativo como método fundamental y la entrevista semiestructurada a directivos y periodistas que participaron en la realización de los productos comunicativos que conforman la muestra gris, se concluye que los principales rasgos del PI presentes en los reportajes del semanario en el marco temporal analizado se relacionan con el tratamiento de los temas, la organización del proceso investigativo, la manera de manejar las fuentes de
información y la utilización de los métodos y técnicas más importantes del PI.
Unlike the international journalistic tradition, in the Cuban state media the practice of investigative journalism (IJ) is infrequent. However, elements of the discipline can be found in interpretive reports published in provincial and national weeklies. This research characterizes the features of IJ present in the interpretive reports published by the Cienfuegos´ newspaper 5 de Septiembre, in the period 2014-2018. Based on a qualitative approach and the use of qualitative content analysis as a fundamental method and the semi-structured interview with executives and journalists who participated in the realization of the communicative products that make up the gray sample, it is concluded that the main features of IJ present in The weekly reports in the analyzed time frame are related to the treatment of the issues, the organization of the investigative process, the way to handle the sources of information and the use of the most important methods and techniques of the IJ.
