Resumen
La implementación de los entornos virtuales cobra mayor auge a partir del inminente avance del
coronavirus por todo el mundo, como resultado de esta situación la dirección del país determina
conjuntamente con el Ministerio de Educación Superior interrumpir el curso escolar 2019 – 2020.
Derivado de esta problemática surge la necesidad de potenciar la implementación de las
plataformas virtuales, con vistas a continuar el proceso de enseñanza – aprendizaje desde casa y
el Centro de Idiomas de la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas, se une al reto de
utilizar los Entornos Virtuales como herramienta de comunicación para acceder a fuentes de
información en esta lengua, y la adquisición de habilidades y componentes lingüísticos. Esta
investigación se propone como objetivo evaluar la implementación de la plataforma Moodle en la
enseñanza-aprendizaje del idioma inglés, para ello la metodología empleada se sustenta en la
dialéctica materialista, utilizándose métodos del nivel teórico como son el Histórico-Lógico, el
Analítico-Sintético y el Inductivo-Deductivo y la recopilación de los datos se desarrolló con la
Encuesta a profesores y alumnos del Centro de Idiomas mientras que el Criterio de especialistas
se aplicó a especialistas del Centro de Estudios de la Educación y del propio Centro. Entre las
conclusiones de este trabajo esta que la implementación de la plataforma en el Centro de Idiomas
ha presentado fortalezas y debilidades que deben ser resueltas a corto, mediano o largo alcance;
así como urge continuar perfeccionando la Plataforma Moodle en el, y la preparación de sus
profesores.
The implementation of virtual environments becomes important starting from the imminent advance of the coronavirus all over the world, as a result of this situation it was determined to interrupt the 2019 – 2020 school course. Due to this problem, a necessity to foster the implementation of the virtual platforms came up, in order to continue the teaching- learning process from home, the Language Center of the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas, joined the challenge of using Virtual Environments as a communication tool to accede to sources of information in this language, and the acquisition of abilities and linguistic components. This research intends as objective to evaluate the implementation of the Moodle platform in the teaching-learning process of the English language, to achieve this it was used the methodology sustained in the materialistic dialectics, there were used methods of the theoretical level like Historical-logical, Analytic-synthetic and inductive-deductive and collection of data was developed with the Survey to teachers and students of the Language Center while the criteria of specialists was applied to specialists of the Center of Studies of the Education and of the Language Center. Among the conclusions of this paper it came out that the implementation of the platform in the Language Center has presented strengths and weaknesses that should be solved in a short, medium and long term; as well as it urges to continue perfecting the Moodle Platform in the Center, and the training of its teachers.
