Resumen
El benchmarking se considera una herramienta basada en el aprendizaje continuo de las mejores prácticas de empresas líderes. Es una estrategia para ganar competitividad en un entorno en el que el conocimiento y la capacidad para gestionarlo, son factores que adquieren una especial relevancia a fin de generar ventajas competitivas sostenibles. En este sentido en la presente investigación se realiza un proceso de benchmarking de la Gestión de mantenimiento en la refinería Sergio Soto con el objetivo de identificar los aspectos deficientes y relevantes que posee la empresa en las estas prácticas de esta función.
La aplicación del procedimiento seleccionado para desarrollar el proceso de benchmarking permitió identificar, dentro de los indicadores utilizados para evaluar la Gestión del mantenimiento en la Unión Cubapetróleo, en cuáles la empresa presentaba un desempeño favorable y en cuáles aún posee limitaciones que constituyen posibilidades de mejoramiento. De igual forma se pudo valorar, mediante la realización de un diagnóstico, el comportamiento de las áreas y funciones características de la Gestión del mantenimiento en la empresa respecto a la organización líder del sector.
Benchmarking is considered a tool based on continuous learning of the best practices of leading companies. It is a strategy to gain competitiveness in an environment in which knowledge and the ability to manage it are factors that acquire special relevance in order to generate sustainable competitive advantages. In this sense, in the present investigation a process of benchmarking of the maintenance management in the Sergio Soto refinery is carried out with the objective of identifying the deficient and relevant aspects that the company has in these practices of this function. The application of the selected procedure to develop the benchmarking process made it possible to identify, within the indicators used to evaluate Maintenance Management in the Cubapetroleum Union, in which the company presented a favorable performance and in which it still has limitations that constitute possibilities for improvement. In the same way, it was possible to evaluate, by means of a diagnosis, the behavior of the areas and functions characteristic of the maintenance management in the company with respect to the leading organization of the sector.
