This work was performed at the Clinical Surgical Provincial University Hospital "Arnaldo Milian Castro" of Santa Clara with the aim of carrying out monitoring of the energy system of the facility. They were reviewed various literature sources about energy management in health centers in the world and particularly in Cuba. The characterization of energy carriers showed that electrical power was the most consumed carrier 1 476.6 tcc (4034.4 MWh) representing 85.4%, followed by fuel oil fuel with 232.2 tcc (239,000 liters) equivalent al13, 4%, and these carriers as consumed by the hospital during 2015, along with 16.81 tcc LPG and diesel plant with 4.15 tcc. The electrical system of the hospital and analysis of the substation that feeds the same was characterized. The analysis of work of generators allowed to note their capacity, technical data, operation and caters loads. The consumption structure of the hospital, lifting loads and analysis of consumer key positions were the subject of comment. Finally the rate applied to hospital by Electric Company and energy costs generated was analyzed.
