dc.description.abstractEl arribo a la ancianidad conlleva cambios en el orden físico y emocional. Lograr una mejor calidad de vida de los gerontes es una premisa para alcanzar su desarrollo humano. Por tal razón, proponemos los siguientes objetivos: identificar los aspectos que tipifican la situación social de desarrollo en la tercera edad, examinar el efecto de la institucionalización de los adultos mayores e identificar la Situación Social de Desarrollo de una adulta mayor institucionalizada en un hogar de ancianos de la provincia de Villa Clara, Cuba. Se emplearon métodos en los niveles teórico y empírico, fundamentalmente la entrevista a profundidad y el análisis documental clásico. Se demostró que las redes de apoyo son relevantes para el bienestar psicológico de los ancianos. Asimismo, se evidenció la necesidad de comunicación en la ancianidad pues los adultos mayores desean transmitir sus vivencias y conocimientosen_US
dc.description.abstractThe arrival of old age entails changes in the physical and emotional order. Achieving a better quality of life for the elderly is a premise to achieve their human development. For this reason, we propose the following objectives: to identify the aspects that typify the social situation of development in the elderly, examine the effect of the institutionalization of older adults and identify the Social Situation of Development of an older adult institutionalized in a nursing home. elderly of the province of Villa Clara, Cuba. Methods were used at the theoretical and empirical levels, mainly the in-depth interview and the classic documentary analysis. Support networks were shown to be relevant to the psychological well-being of the elderly.
