Resumen
Durante las últimas décadas Cuba ha experimentado un notable crecimiento turístico. Actualmente, como parte del programa de desarrollo económico y social del país, se realizan acciones encaminadas a diversificar la oferta de acuerdo a las nuevas tendencias del mercado. Es por ello que numerosas instituciones nacionales han visualizado el vínculo de la agricultura y el turismo como una alternativa para la reactivación de las zonas rurales y el impulso de las economías locales. Precisamente hacia el agroturismo se enfoca la presente investigación que tiene como objetivo diseñar un producto turístico pertinente, competitivo y sostenible, que considere la cultura tabacalera del municipio Placetas y lo inserte en la actividad turística de la provincia. Dicho territorio posee cuantiosos recursos naturales, culturales e histórico asociados al tratamiento del tabaco; además de la infraestructura necesaria para el desarrollo de esta modalidad. Con ese fin se evaluaron varios procedimientos identificándose MEPROTUR como la metodología más efectiva, tanto para el diagnóstico como para el diseño. El estudio arrojó como resultado teórico una recopilación bibliográfica sobre los principales temas aborados; y como práctico, se determinó la demanda potencial, y los recursos y activiades para satisfacer sus intereses; todos integrados en “La ruta del tabaco en Placetas”. Esta nueva oferta resulta viable desde el punto de vista económico, social y mediambiental; se centra en rescatar la cultura de una estirpe campesina con siglos de experiencia e impulsar el desarrollo rural a partir de la integración de todos los atractivos y componentes del destino, logrando la autenticidad del producto
During the last decades Cuba has experienced a remarkable tourist growth. Currently, as part of the economic and social development program of the country, actions are carried out aimed at diversifying the offer according to the new market trends. That is why many national institutions have visualized the link between agriculture and tourism as an alternative for reactivating rural areas and boosting local economies. Precisely towards agrotourism, this research focuses on the design of a relevant, competitive and sustainable tourism product that takes into account the tobacco culture of the Placetas municipality and inserts it into the tourist activity of the province. This territory has many natural, cultural and historical resources associated with the treatment of tobacco; besides the necessary infrastructure for the development of this modality. To that end, several procedures were evaluated identifying MEPROTUR as the most effective methodology, both for the diagnosis and for the design. The study yielded as a theoretical result a bibliographic compilation on the main themes studied; and as practical, the potential demand was determined, and the resources and activities to satisfy their interests; all integrated in "The tobacco route in Placetas". This new offer is viable from the economic, social and environmental point of view; focuses on rescuing the culture of a peasant lineage with centuries of experience and promoting rural development from the integration of all the attractions and components of the destination, achieving the authenticity of the product
