To support the performance of educational processes in higher education in Cuba there is a system (SIGENU) that manages all academic and statistical information related to higher education undergraduate. Students in the SIGENU are treated as the most important parameter when making decisions about educational processes. However, in Cuban universities there is not a tool dedicated to the evaluation of student performance from their experiences in different academic activities. Although it is not the aim of this diploma work to implement it, the interest shown by some research laboratories of the Central University of Las Villas to implement a similar approach, make it necessary to begin to pave the way by collecting information related to the student´s learning experiences within and outside the academia. Experience API (XAPI) is an international specification from the Advanced Distributed Learning group, which allows collect any type of learning event experienced by a learner, regardless of the place where it took place. Given the large number of academic data existing in SIGENU, it would be a good first step to collect this information with the support of xAPI, however, it does not exist any tool in SIGENU that meets this purpose. In this research, a new module for the SIGENU that implements these functions is proposed. SIGENU-xAPI allows you to collect information, related to student´s academic activities, in a learning record store according to xAPI specification. Throughout this work are presented the main features of its design, implementation and deployment, as well as the theoretical foundations on which this research is based.
