Resumen
Los montubios son un grupo conformado por campesinos que surge a fines del siglo XIX producto de la mezcla de aborígenes, negros y españoles pobres. La tradición cultural se ve amenazada a su desaparición a partir de la pérdida de identidad de los pobladores, la falta de documentos que recojan la tradición montubia y el no reconocimiento como patrimonio inmaterial. Se plantea como objetivos del estudio: describir el estado de conservación de la cultura montubia y sus prácticas y diseñar un plan de medidas de conservación preventiva del patrimonio sonoro y documental montubio. Para la obtención de resultados se emplean métodos en los niveles teórico y empírico. Se identifica una amplia existencia de documentos de la cultura montubia atesorada por los pobladores, no siendo así en instituciones de información de la provincia de Manabí, Ecuador. Se elabora un plan de medidas de conservación preventiva para la tradición montubia, enfatizado en la documentación del bien patrimonial, así como la preservación de los bienes documentales
Montubios are a group made up of peasants emerged in the late nineteenth century product mix of natives, blacks and poor Spanish.
